Measure and Price for WooCommerce
Sell by the metre, square metre, kilogram or litre. Customers type how much they need and see packs, coverage and price before they add to cart.
Free, and coming soon to WordPress.org. No account, no upsell banners, nothing sent anywhere.
Made for shops that sell by amount
Flooring and tiles by the square metre. Fabric, rope, cable and timber by the metre. Cheese, coffee and seed by the kilogram. Paint and oil by the litre. Anything where the customer knows how much they need and the shop sells it in packs, cuts or whole units.
What your customer sees
One field asks how much they need. As they type, one sentence tells them what they will get, how much it covers and what it costs. If the amount rounds up to the next pack, the page says so in plain words before they add it:
As the customer sees it
12.3 m² rounds up to the next pack. Each pack is £62.48.
The amount follows the product into the basket, through checkout, onto the order and into the emails.
Set up in five minutes
Open a product
There is a new tab in the Product data box called Sold by.
Say what it is sold by
Length, area, weight or volume, the unit your price is for, and the smallest amount you sell, such as 2.5 m² packs or 0.1 m cuts. Every field explains itself.
Enter the price
The price label on the General tab now says what the price is per.
That is the whole setup. The getting-started guide walks through it with pictures.
Everything a shop needs
Metric and imperial
Price in m² and let customers enter square feet, or the other way round. Show the equivalent in the other system next to their amount.
Length and width
For floors, walls and windows, customers can enter two sizes and the plugin multiplies.
Packs, cuts and whole units
Sell in 2.5 m² packs, 10 cm cuts or whole kilograms. Amounts round up to the next step, never down, and the rounding is always explained.
Waste allowance
A tick box, “Add 10% for cuts and waste”, ticked by default. Customers can untick it and see the difference.
Minimum and maximum
Refuse an order below a metre or above a roll, with a message that says why.
Price per pack or per unit
Think in packs? Enter the pack price and the plugin shows the price per m² for you.
Variable products
Each variation’s price is its price per unit.
Weight for shipping
Set the weight per unit and weight-based shipping stays right.
Price per unit in shop lists
“£24.99 / m²” in the shop and on the product page.
Built to stay out of the way
- Orders always contain a whole number of packs at a normal price. Every payment gateway, shipping method, stock count, refund and report keeps working.
- Prices are recalculated on the server. Nothing in the browser can lower a price.
- The field and the summary inherit your theme. No styling to fight.
- Works with the classic and the block cart and checkout, and with high-performance order storage.
- No admin notices, no upsell banners, no data sent anywhere.
- Page builders: the calculator appears through WooCommerce’s own add-to-cart hook. If your template bypasses it, a shortcode and a block put it where you want it.
How the sums work
Each pack has one price, rounded to the penny, and the total is packs times that price. £24.99 per m² in 2.5 m² packs is £62.48 a pack, so five packs are £312.40. The page shows the pack price so the customer can check it, and the order records the amount, the packs and the pack price.
Packs, steps and rounding shows every step of the arithmetic.
Questions
It has been checked on Storefront, Astra, Kadence, GeneratePress, Twenty Twenty-Five and with Elementor. It uses WooCommerce’s standard hooks, which nearly every theme honours. Page builders and custom templates covers the exceptions.
In packs or steps. With 2.5 m² packs, a stock of 40 means 40 packs. The Sold by tab says so next to the fields.
No. The price is worked out again on the server when the product is added and again at checkout.
WooCommerce’s own tax settings apply to the pack price as they would to any product.
Yes. Everything on this page is free and stays free, with no limits on products or sites. Measure and Price Pro adds made-to-measure pricing, price lists and settings per variation and category; see below.
